Rotation 1
September 1 - October 23
Euclid Elementary School 1211 N. Wheeling Rd. Mt. Prospect, IL 60056
Mrs. Ortiz's 5th grade class
Mrs. Ortiz had a class of 22 students. Since this was my first rotation, I observed a lot during the first couple of weeks. I taught one math lesson that was about 35 minutes long. The students in the class split up everyday for RTI time. I was able to teach an RTI lesson to a group that was considered low ability. This class also consisted of a couple of ELL students.

Rotation 2
October 26 - December 18
South Middle School 400 S. Highland Ave. Arlington Heights, IL 60005
Mrs. Cook's 6th grade art classes
During the time I was there in the afternoon, Mrs. Cook taught two different art classes and an advisory class. It was very interesting to be able to see a this different kind of teaching. I was able to teach a short 20 minute lesson on glazing. Most of the time Mrs. Cook would explain directions and then the students would have the rest of the time to work on their own. The advisory class was a group of 8th graders. During the time I was there, they were getting ready for conferences.

Rotation 3
January 4 - February 26
Anne Sullivan Elementary School 700 N. Schoenbeck Rd. Prospect Heights, IL 60070
Mrs. Henehan's 3rd and 4th grade resource class
On Monday and Wednesday, Mrs. Henehan would teach a group of five 3rd graders. These were students that needed extra help with math and they were pulled out of their mainstream classroom. I was able to teach these 3rd graders a 45 minute math lesson. This was a great learning experience for me because I had never taught such a small group before. On Friday, Mrs. Henehan taught math to a group of six fourth graders. They came to her for about 30 minutes and they would practice math facts and do other types of games.

Rotation 4
March 1 - April 16
Wheeling High School 900 S. Elmhurst Rd. Wheeling, IL 60090
Mrs. Perkin's and Ms. Christiansen's ESL class
This class was co-taught by two teachers and it was a group of about 25 9-12 graders. Most of the students were freshman but there was a couple from each grade beyond that. These students were all trying to learn how to enhance their skills when reading and writing in English. I taught them a grammar lesson that helped them learn how to write a sentence correctly. Most days they went in the computer lab and worked on a program called Reading Plus. This rotation was a great learning experience for me.

Rotation 5
April 19 - May 28
Euclid Elementary School 1211 N. Wheeling Rd. Mt. Prospect, IL 60056
Mrs. Muscarello's 2nd grade class
This 2nd grade class consists of 20 students. While I am there in the afternoon they do math, science, RTI, and two specials. I taught a couple of math lessons and one science lesson for 30 minutes each. This has been my favorite rotation because 2nd grade is what I want to teach and I have a lot of fun teaching
these students. The teacher has guided me through writing lesson plans and has helped me out a lot.
